Offline OR Online Marketing?
hi,
Online and offline marketing
When planning to launch a new product, what is the best was to organise online and offline marketing? Is it better to start both campaign at the same time or should one be started before the other?
thanks

I guess it depends on what type of product you are referring to (i.e. physical product or e-product). If possible, should do it concurrently but of course bearing in mind that usually online is easier and cheaper to do than offline...So, effectively your online marketing might get effected earlier than offline marketing.
Cheers

It actually depends on what type of product you are launching. If it's related IM there is no question about it. It should be 100% online, I think

An earlier post hit the mark...
It depends on the product........does not matter which is easier or faster....
Some products do not work in both venues....
Can you sell hot fresh hamburgers on the net......
Yes..
But they sell much better offline....IMHO

good point Jim
keep in mind that success cant defy with money you're willing to give out, its about considering combination of strategies that not only focus on one aspect of marketing

In many cases, it seems, people focus on a single method and claim that it is "the best"......
Then there is a change and their business (traffic) dries up....
A prime example is article marketing...it sure has changed....

There are few cases to be analyized
1. Business target is global market
2. Local business and still the online usage is very high among the population
3. You have a limited budget for marketing
If yes for any one then you can choose online marketing.

I don't spend anytime with offline marketing, however if I had the money then I would do both offline and online marketing for the best results.

I agree to huasang and Jim's comments, it depends really on the product you want to market. But more businesses (traditional) today are adapting to include SEO and SEM to reach their potential clients.

It depends on products and location where are you looking to sell product. An Indian must go for offline marketing more as still people more like to buy in physical market rather than online.

All marketing efforts should start with a goal and means for measuring success, so I do not get into specifics on those tasks in this list, but focus more on the content and promotion.

You should always use a combination of both. Your overall marketing strategy is a mixture of an on- and offline-strategy.

Online marketing is far better in terms that it allows people from other parts of cities, states, world to know what business is being offered. Offline marketing is great only for fixed locations.

Starting with online seem better. It gives you a chance to try the performace of the product with a lower budget. Online marketing has low risk rates.
