How to get your site to the "next level"
Ok, so my site, www.wholesalechecklist.com is still moving along very slowly. Its been almost two years, and all I get is two sales per month average.
What do I need to do to get my sales up and my site more popular?

First question that needs answering is why are you only getting 2 sales per month?
1, People are coming to your site but not buying. (This can be found by checking out your stats)
2, People aren't finding your site. (Again, this can be found by checking your stats)
Once you know the answer to that, you should begin to form a picture on how best to move forward

Here are my stats....I definately need more traffic....
I mean, I am an active member in three forums, I have exchanged links with three or four web sites, and I have optimized my site as much as I can for search engines. What else can I do?

You can do a lot more, and you will need to do a lot more than that.
you will need to get more back links to your site first of all, tons more backlinks from wherever you can get them with your keywords in the anchor text to get up in the rankings in the searches for your keywords.
Also I suggest to look into advertising your site.

What type of advertising options do I have? Something like link building services and article submission? Or what about Adsense? Banners?

One thing I would consider and see if it's feasible is allowing people to make money from your site also. e.g.
If they place some code (affiliate link) on their site then for each book sold, they also make a few dollars.
This way, you get a link and also more chances to sell your book and people have an incentive to list it for you.

It could just be your niche.
I was searching for wholesale sellers about... 2 years ago.
Maybe the rush has died. I know that's not what you want to hear but maybe you might want to consider that. It does happen.

Thats one reason, second reason could be people don't want to pay for that info, when they can get it for free.

Well devilzfan300, your stats are pitiful. But i think main proble is trust.
You do not offer refund, which is understandable because of the nature of your product.
But me (decent retailer, who is looking for good wholesaler) it does not help. Who do i know that i will not get bunch of old, outdated emails or address info.
1. I do not know what i am getting. I do not have time to read your 5000 words text. Sorry, it's borring. Better make a sample on how your data looks like and what i am getting. Emails? Phone? Fax? Address?....
2. Make a search. So i could type in my niche and get a sample data. May be one record from your DB.
10 bucks you asking is not a lot but I need slightest assurance that I am not throwing them away.

I think other members have basically summed it up in here but one question you need to ask is: Would you buy from that site if you saw it and if not, why not?
I would ask your friends to pretend to be a potential customer interested in that list and see what puts them off, if anything.
With this info, you should have a good idea of what needs to be done.

1. Has already been said; more traffic (buy some)
2. Maybe an affiliate program (assuming you have the rights to the book). That will give you access to a whole network of affiliate marketers.
This type of product still sells (I know because I push similar e-books as an affiliate and sell several per day)

I'll just put one more vote in for more visitors. PPC (pay per click) via Google adsense (as mentioned) or yahoo's Overture is an easy and quick start. I used PPC as an initial injection for targeted traffic while learning and practicing SEO.
More visitors, however, does not always equal more money... at least not when you are selling a product as you are. you need targeted visitors... PPC allows you to pick certain keywords so you know what brings particular customers in.
there are sites and companies that give you "1000's of visitors within hours!" avoid those. Why would you want it? you don't. You want visitors who are seeking your product. Put it where they are looking.

hehe, I bought this dropshipping website from a really horrible company. Their prices actually cost more than the product. I paid a lot in AdSense (Google) and didn't notice this until it has been 3 months straight with NO orders. I checked and pretty soon noticed what happened. No refunds for stuff on the internet either...that was a horrible day.
What kind of customer would pay more for an item on the internet + shipping if they could just go to BestBuy and buy it themselves for a cheaper price AND get it right away?
Just goes to show you that it doesn't matter on HOW MUCH traffic you get, it depends on WHAT KIND of traffic you get..meaning if I actually got people who are too lazy to leave their house, then I would have made sales! Same thing goes for you.
