Question Google Adwords Sucks??

Hello,

I am thinking of using google adwords. But a friend of mine told that he is not getting any real customers for his site. He only gets few visitor who are visiting just to get some adsense income . . . . has it happened with anyone of you? He says most of the fake visits are from China.

Are you sure he is using adwords? You can be specific on where you want your traffic from. Unless you are talking about the content network. That , you can still control the geo on where your ad will show..

I tried adwords and while I know it works for some, it didn't for me either, not with my budget anyways. I did have my traffic targeted from the US but most were still fraud clicks in my opinion. Maybe your friend is just like me and don't know how to use it. lol

Seems few others also face this problem. I have to re-think before opening an account. Since, Google pays for the ads there are many site owners who click their own ads or get them clicked by others to earn some income.

Does, anyone know what these ebooks titled like "Adwords Income Secrets" try to sell? Methods to get more clicks??

Thanks.

If you have one of the free $100 vouchers, then I suggest that you open and account and try it. If you are a product owner, then AdWords is still very useful. If you are trying to push things as an affiliate, you are going to have a much more difficult time getting an ROI, although it is still possible if you have a lot of experience setting up PPC campaigns.

Just make sure you have a budget set and that you're willing to invest enough to get solid data before pulling the plug on a campaign. Sometimes you have to throw a lot out there to see which keywords are winners. It takes some tweaking to get it right so don't get discouraged right off the bat.

@Josh Rossdale yup, this makes sense. Having a coupon can be good to use it, otherwise paying real cash is not very good idea

@inCtrl Yes, will give it a try, but not without coupons!! I don't know how many have managed to become successful with adwords alone . . . its only a way for the adsense users to get some cash!

Google adwords is still effective, it depend on which keyword you targeted. If you own a furniture shop at Malaysia and selling table.

By targeting table, it could be to general and does not help. If you targeting furniture in Malaysia, that would be much more effective.

@patrick0001 ok got the idea of using the keywords but still it doesn't solve the problem as there are many out there who ask their friends to just click the ads on their website so that they can get paid and not because he wants to buy any of your product or furniture!

I have heard that depending on the industry you are in, adwords may not be effective if used as an impression counter vs. a sponsored link. I have had bad experiences with impression-type adwords marketing via google sponsored sites, but I have never had problems with the latter.

Adwords can be very effective. My company used our $100 coupon to great effect. Like everyone else has said, as long as you target the right market with your ads then it will work very well. If you don't, well it's like trying to sell barbie dolls to hockey players, not gonna get a great return on that.
