The best way to promote an article is post it on your own blog. I would suggest rewriting the article instead of submitting the same one to a lot of article directories. Maybe even squeeze in different keywords in each one.

I agree with all the said above. I can add that I also have a great success with sharing an article on LinkedIn in thematical groups - it may be time consuming but you receive good amount of traffic for 2-3 days after sharing it there.

I just want to share you my practice in promoting my articles. I post it to my site blog, submit only to 5-8 article directories (pero article), utilize social networking sites by sharing it or tweet about it (using the plugins on the blog), and then bookmark it.

Next promote your new articles in social bookmark (digg, reddit) and social network (fb, twitter, forum).

By doing this, it will create a link wheel effect.

The best way to promote article is to submit it to different article directories. It is a very good idea to rewrite it, to make it a little bit different. Choose only the top and the most popular article directories. More or less 10 good article directories only.
