Submitting a Press Release?

Where are some good places to submit my Press Release? Do those companies like PR Webb actually work? Do they get your release to the right people? Should I submit it by myself and not hire someone else to do so?

I have used PRWeb and have found that it works pretty well. I used one of the more advanced options and my press release was in major publications online across the country. I thought it was pretty good. It depends on what your goal with the press release is though.

My goal is to get my name out across the USA, I think the rest will take care of itself with time. Glad to hear they worked for you. Thanks!

First get a list of Top 10 PR Sites and then submit link yourself.

It is easy to submit Press Releases. You don't need to hire someone else to do the submissions. You can just do it on your own. First thing you should do is to search and find Press Release sites, with high PR. Then submit your Press Release articles to those Press Release you have found.

The online press release sites listed above are good at getting good content to online magazines that do a lot of aggregating. They are also good at pushing your content out and driving some traffic to your site just through the press release site itself.

In my experience, printed media still responds best to printed releases with photographs or direct emails to their submission email addresses. Broadcast media respond best to direct announcements and the video press release services. Hiring a good PR company with a nice in your industry is definitely worthwhile if you are talking about getting into large audience printed media. When I lived in Los Angeles, I worked for Sommerville Associates, the public relations agency specializing in four star resorts. We got our clients feature articles in food and travel magazines that would never have happened with a free submission to a big PR website.

3 to 4 Press Release Submission Sites at a time for press articles should be enough to have your business name indexed and come up on Google search results. Using those high ranking press release site can help you more get noticed online immediately.

For example I have pressonwire.com as my most used press release site.

When you are submitting a Press Release, it is always preferred to get a back link. Most sites do not offer back link. There are some very good sites as in here:

PR Web definitely works....its the Big Brother of all the online
press release websites.

But i wouldn't just focus on PR Web....You should have multiple
PR sources. The more....the better.

I just dabble in online press releases through PRWeb and similar. They have definitely helped specific projects get indexed by Google faster, and they have driven a little traffic to my site which has a very specific focus and small target audience. As for offline press releases to local media, for the benefit of brick and mortar companies, the answer to your question is a definite yes. Very good for creating a local buzz, announcing new services, positioning a company, etc.
