Need a little DIGG help!
It's so frustrating feeling so close to being on the front page. I'm sitting at 19 diggs so far but could definitely use a litttle push.
This digg is for my onlyfeeds site so those of you who submitted your feeds to this site will definitely benefit from the traffic as well .
In fact I suggest you submit a feed then digg it so when your link goes on the front page of my site in the last 10 submitted section on the front page you benefit from the digg traffic as well.
Here's the digg link, and thanks! : http://digg.com/technology/Web_Based..._Good_Content_

I've been on the front page 3 times in two months...It has a lot more to do with the speed at which you get the diggs and number of comments. The number of comments one is why most people that just ask for a Digg don't get any boost.
Anyway, I Dugg AND Commented

Yeah I figured that out too, that's why I posted it here and on DP. Because I want to get diggs and comments fast.
So please if you digg take a sec and write a quick comment
I'm approving RSS feeds pretty much as fast as I get them and there is plenty of space left in the top 10 for today.
Thanks yfs1, my brotha from anotha motha!

Thats the right strategy..I usually have 4 or 5 forums I post it on similtaneously and so far every Digg hits the front page...There is also a Yahoo group where they share diggs although I haven't tried it (I think there is even a link somewhere here)
Usually someone pipes in with the morality of using the system but if its there why not utilize it (My Dugg site is non-profit anyway)
Digg George!!

George I completed the RSS form in full but when I click on the submit button it just goes blank - nothing. At the bottom it says the page has completed loading.
Using IE6

George - Out of curiousity, did you come up with this idea yourself? Is it unique?
Either way, its definately the future of Web Directories and probably one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time (well since the last time I saw it and submitted)
Really Cool:

Submitted the feed now.
I've seen this type of thing before but I can't place a link to the other site that offers the same type of idea. Great idea though.

yfs1,
Yes and no . I thought of the idea while building kingsave (trying to think of a niche route to go with directories).
But when I researched it I found that there is already "a few" (less than 5) sites out there like this but the ones that are out are major competition like syndic8. So what I'm trying to do is focus on simplicity and SEO which syndic8 doesn't do too well IMO.
I make it A) easy to submit your feed and B) I give multiple anchor text targetted links instead of just a single link back to your site.
I'm sure a few copycats are already in the works so I'm trying to keep exactly how I did it under wraps for as long as possible till I can get a head start

Im not a big syndic8 fan as I know what you mean about orgnization over there. It takes a long time to get used to their site if you haven't used it before. Yours has a much better feel to it which makes it unique. It is like Campbells Soup...Feels Like a Directory...Eats like a Feed Providor

Good-luck!
Thanks John, for allowing these Digg requests to be posted in these forums. Sitepoint has banned such requests and, I think, blocks the term "Digg" from even being used. They seem to be paranoid about being banned; supposedly Digg now bans sites in which such trades are made (i.e. - "you digg my story, I'll digg yours.").
Note that it's not the URL of the story being submitted that gets banned; it's the forum domain in which diggs are solicited.
Personally, I disagree with such a policy. People use whatever network they have to support their causes: friends, co-workers, community groups, forums, Yahoo! groups, etc. I don't see why Digg would oppose the use of forums to push a story.

I have members in one of my forums who have their own forums and sites. Thing is you gotta use common sense (IMO) to tell who is just spamming and who is just sharing and looking for visitors. I'm guilty of spamming as I was first learning the ropes, John put up with my shannanigans at first when I didn't even realize what I was doing. But when members in my forum post links to their own stuff, instead of censoring them, banning them, etc, I typically will lift them up and provide constructive criticism where applicable and even backlinks.
I blog about my members links and forums and whatnot and I can always tell they appreciate when they link back to me. the whole Digg thing is the same IMO.

The speed of diggs definitelly is a key. According to wikipedia, to get to the front page, you need 30+ diggs. I got 39 on my article, all in about 12 hours. Was not enough to get to the front page, but did give me 300 visitors over 24 hours. Mind ya, no one really travelled beyond the article, which was kinda sad... wondering how useful the system is to someone trying to get people interested in a site?

Well that sucks.... It's been over 24 hours and I only have 24 diggs so I probably won't make it. Hey I tried
