Is your website a blog by any chance?

Getting ranked on the first page for some education keywords is not that easy. Although the niche that your site is in, is a good niche for the adsense publishers.

For a revenue source for your site, apply for an adsense publisher account and once approved, put adsense on your blog. Wait till you have some steady traffic coming in because with little traffic, the chances of making money with adsense is very low.

Let's say that you are on page 1 for one of your keywords, there is no way to predict the estimate income you'll make with using adsense as an example. The pay per click amount is different each time because adwords user's are bidding on keywords for position. The more traffic you get the better the chances you'll make more money.

You could also sell banner advertising spots on your website once you get a lot of traffic. That's a fast way to make money each month.

Find blogs in the education niche and ask the owner if you could write a guest blog post. Then leave one or 2 links to your website in that blog post. You'll hopefully get some visitors out of this because you are writing on a blog in the education niche and the visitors are already interested in that blogs content. Remember that blogs visitors might tweet your blog post and also send it to other social sites so more traffic might come from just 1 guest blog post.

Make Business Cards. Go out and talk to people, then give them a Business Card. Started doing that and its been working out.

I'll offer some guidance, though most of this should have been in your business plan for the site if you want it to be a serious venture.

Promotion:

- Pay per click advertising
- Banner ads
- Email campaigns
- Word of mouth
- Direct mail to potential customers

Profit:

We can't tell you what the profit will be. Simply put your profit will be the output of your product margins, how much time and effort you put in and how well your sales go.

If this site is a hobby, I wish you all the best of luck. You should think about who your target market is, why they need 'your' product, whether your pricing and offering is competitive against others, and whether there is a market for your product.

Once you've answered these questions, you'll have a good idea on how to talk to you market. Some markets are better left to offline market, while others thrive on online marketing.

Your profit will be driven by you as the price setter (or price taker if you're in a commoditised market). If you can charge more for you product, because its better than the competition, do it - more profit for you.
