I have discovered how to gain traffic, and how to build an email list, but now I have a new problem that I face.
I have just passed 1.5 Million emails in my list, and I was always lead to believe that a high number of email addresses = a high number of sales.
I have not sent out a SINGLE email yet, promoting any products, because I am afraid of ruining a good thing.
What I need from you guys, is advice if I am able to ask for that here. What makes an email successful?
Also, is 1.5 Million even that high of a number? Maybe being from a farm makes me see numbers bigger than what they really are, if that makes any sense.
Thank you for any help you have for me!

1.5 million emails... hmmm did all 1.5 million humans opt-in to your email list? I'm curious to how you built this list. The famous guru's that are like role models in the affiliate game don't have that huge of a list because they do it the legal way by having a opt-in form and don't purchase emails.
A high number of emails don't mean a high number of sales at all. You can't just type up a email promoting a product and expect over 80% of the people to open up the email and even reading the whole thing. Build up a list of people who are interested in your niche and don't always send out emails with affiliate links in them. Build up a trust with your subscribers so when you do promote a product to them, you will have a better success rate.
Countless times i've joined a list and after the first email, i unsubscribed because of the way the email was written. Didn't feel like the person was talking to me but sounded like a car salesman. I've been on a few subscriber lists for 7 years now because of the good emails i've gotten and i've even purchased stuff from those lists.
I'd suggest you take a look at the blog post below. It's a little old but it's a good read.
