Submitting to Reddit: Does it work?

I recently found out that Reddit now has about 2 billion pageviews a month. Yep that's billion with a 'B'.

So does submitting your blog post to Reddit actually work? How well?

Should you submit every single one of your posts to Reddit?

I consider Reddit to be a high authority site. The folks at Reddit go the extra mile in making sure Reddit features quality content for its users.

I don't submit every one, but rather just the best posts from my site since it's good idea to build there reputation. And yea it works since my posts is still ranking number 1 just from the fact that it went viral on Reddit and my website got some nice backlinks from the 2k people that visited my site and linked back. (8 days old site)

If you have really good content then submitting to social sites like reddit is helpful. Your site can get good traffic from those sites.

Yes you can post every page for single time, but you have to wait 9 min for next post.

How it will work, at least 5-10 visitors may be visit the URL you shared on Reddit.
If you provide for more interesting title, short descriptions, and appropriate tag, I think you can get more ;-)

Yes. Reddit is good Social Bookmarking site. It will increase our sites PR if our website has Quality Content. If we submit good and quality stuff on Reddit, our website’s traffic will increase.

How will it increase our PR?

If we submit to Reddit daily with fresh content, can we expect higher PR?

I understand that submitting quality content might actually get you some free traffic but Reddit will not increase your PR at all.

Consider any social bookmarking site, including Reddit, to be as difficult as Digg is to get popular. You really need to have an interesting, unique article that will intrigue people enough to get popular. Either that, or some interesting news, some special tip, something out of the ordinary...

It can be a good resource to get traffic, but typically if not always, the traffic isn't steady. It will bring in a surge of traffic within a very short period of time, usually the day it goes viral, and then that article may continue to get some steady amount of traffic (couple hundred to a thousand unique visitors) over a period of time but expect it to fall. It may help your Google PageRank for the article [you submit], it's web page, and its keyword ranking placement.

You'd be very lucky if you were able to submit a steady flow of links that went viral. I think that's pretty much impossible. But even having one article get popular would certainly be a boost by all means and probably a motivation for you to get your hiney to work.
