You could find blogs in your websites niche and do guest blog posts on them. In your about the author section or in the blog post, add a link to your affiliate program as you should be mentioning it in there. This a good way to get targeted traffic that might just sign up to the program. Besides, this will be a lifetime backlink. lol
Did you write a press release for when you officially launched your affiliate program?
The methods you mentioned already, are they the only methods you have tried?

Twitter can also be good way to promote your affiliate links. Post useful tweets and people will follow you. Twitter can be seen as a mini blog where you post useful links and people follow you.

Building links with Viral content will be much more appreciated in search engine. You can also consider writing useful product related information and publishing it in the social networks to get the better response.

The thread creator already knows about using the social networks. Anyone have additional ways to market that have not been mentioned yet?

These are all fantastic ideas.
Regarding twitter, how do I find people to actually follow me on twitter? I have mine setup as @affiliatesgp
I don't have the twitter icon on my site yet and since I have no traffic, no one will signup.
thx

There isn't one simple way to get noticed. Rather, getting involved on all fronts will give you the best results. If your thing is writing consider other writing options. As has been mentioned, consider guest blogging, commenting on alike material be sociable about your experiences and social media.

clickbank, Jvzoo,
The key to finding affiliate is to have a great product that people keep coming back for more.
Many times I've found that some of my best affiliates came from the people that were already using my product.

Did you read all the replies before posting a response? Any help on the thread creators question that was posted above your response?

Pay per click is perhaps the best way to get high quality traffic quickly for a newly launched site. However, you need to watch your expenses.

The best places to advertise an affiliate program can be blogs related to your product.

Aside from doing guest blog posting, you could also create and manage your own blog where you can advertise your affiliate program. Establish your blog with good content and promote it on your social network accounts.

Well said. Snakeair did mention doing guest posts, but it would be a great way of taking advantage of the freshness factor if you can post the content with the affiliate link on your own website and spread the link leading to the content around the web. Having said that, you should try doing those techniques that you've mentioned and work them together with content creation for your own site or blog.

thx again for all the help to all!
i started using twitter and in 1 week i've reached about 300 followers, all from the same industry. i did forum post around and so far i have about 10 affiliates who've signed up. i know only a small percentage really actively promote but im starting to understand what needs to be done.
i am now searching out like minded blogs in the hope of guest blogging and further promotions. my site itself is just a static html homepage. to all you affiliate marketing god out there ( ) should i convert it to a blog and attempt to post regularly for google seo?
thanks again for helping and guiding a newbie out!

That depends a lot on your niche. Social media marketing is all the rage nowadays. But I think the search engines are still the best place.

Actually social media networking sites are the best place to get traffic for your site. But all link building techniques are giving you traffic and quality back links to your site. Blog commenting is one of the most powerful technique to get traffic for your site. If your site content have more informative, it will get more popular automatically.
