AdWords Examples - Right ads to the right user

Some information from the Adwords Blog to read.

Quote:
In our third part of the series “AdWords Examples” we’ll look into the ads and how to make them more relevant to the customers you’re targeting. Today's post will review the importance of selecting the right destination URL, as users are generally more likely to convert if they arrive at a website page strongly related to their search query. Let’s continue where we left off with Lisa and her campaign for the Google Store.

A user searching for "Google lava lamps" is interested in the part of the store that is dedicated to Lava Lamps, so Lisa wants anyone clicking on her ads to arrive at a page about lava lamps. Here is the page she would like visitors who searched for “Google lava lamps” to see:

Any feedback on this?

I read the page. At first I thought there might be a question somewhere there. Nope. It is simply showing how to optimize for buyers instead of DIY'ers and how to get split test results by using multiple ads.

Those are two good, basic points to keep in mind when using PPC. A lot of people seem to think one ad is sufficient for determining if PPC is worth investing in or not. They are clueless about the importance of making decisions based on accurate metrics, not based on 'a feeling' that PPC is working or not.

I've not taken my agency Adwords tests yet. Am afraid. Not yet seen the test so despite reading and more reading...I’m still scared of failing. Or not doing very well. I've heard the test has outdated questions on it still. Not good.

Anyhow, links like this one that you posted are good to read to keep in mind what we know and don't know. Plus, keep us aware of the need for using solid well throughout strategies when creating campaigns.

I took the AdWords test last February and passed the first time. If I can, you can. Prepare well and you should do fine.
