Thoughts On SMS Marketing

Hello All,

I'm interested in SMS marketing.

I would like to try a company that maybe one of you have used in the past.

Can anyone please share their experience and the company you went with?

Would you use them again?

Thank You

I haven't used this method of marketing in the past. But I can tell you that I'm pretty sure it only works well for certain markets. For example mobile apps etc are obviously a fairly safe bet BUT local club/event promotion is also fairly successful via sms marketing.

Good luck with it whatever your decision is.

If you are getting into mobile marketing, I would recommend trying Trumpia SMS Texting service.

I agree with catcat. Also.. it works only for local business. I used to get several ads and never read anything, I just delete them. So..before investing on sms marketing.. plan twice and find your niche etc.,

In London when you walk past a certain building with your Bluetooth enabled they message you somehow that was pretty cool I know it’s not sms and quite irrelevant so in regards to sms you will end up labelled as a scammer, most people google the number, you end up on who calls me, then this normally leads to scam sites, and review sites and then the google suggestions come up something like
Yoursite scam
Yoursite phone calls
Yoursite messages
Not to mention the fact that it’s just annoying I get at least 3 messages for insurance, loans credit cards, I don’t even read them not once I read the first 2-3 words and I know as soon as I read them its spam, and I hit delete.
Far better ways to advertise than sms because of this constant sms spam I have to change a number I’ve had for years, it’s getting to the point where it’s too much some even start like this
“Hi we met the other day its Martin Burns etc” like who is Martin Burns

I have to disagree and say that text marketing can really work in any industry. It’s in it’s infancy right now, but soon becoming more accepted by businesses as a very good way to find customers. I think what’s important is that just like an email list….it’s implemented the right way and not used as a way to spam.

It’s actually easier to get a person to opt-in to a mobile list and statistics have shown that they are also more responsive. Of course the key is that they opted in and not being spammed just like it happens all the time with email.

And the industry is growing rapidly. If you get the time to look up the term mobile autoresponder for example, you’ll see a lot of pages and a lot of autoresponder services that are doing very well and make it a snap to do this type of marketing.

I just see it becoming a principle marketing strategy down the road.

SMS marketing I think is costly. And with my recent experience on it, unsolicited texts are annoying.
