I have listen that many people say that Video marketing is really effective and it can give you links in description post. I have read many things about it.

Instead of listening to what this person says and what that person says, why not test it out for yourself for your own niche ??

Not being rude but just saying that part of building a business and marketing is in fact testing this for yourself. Sure it is nice to get "expert" advice and even follow a "proven" marketing plan. Even then though you still want to test things.

I can tell you video marketing does work but I can only say that for the niches that I have done it in. It may do great in one niche and suck in another. This is why you test.

The thing about creating a video is that in order for it to work for you, it has to be interesting enough for people to share. It is no good just posting generic "animoto" videos online and hoping that will drive people through to your site.

Personally I never watch videos that promote products, but they may be good for creating links back to your site from high PR pages.

Video marketing can definitely work if it's done in the right way. DO NOT make a spammy promotional video of your product, but rather see what other similar companies/products have come up with and learn from them. See which ones got the most views and try to figure out what strategy they used. Build your own strategy from this info.
Make something that introduces your product (something fun and entertaining) instead of selling it.

Creativity is the key to video marketing example the YouTube video “big foot caught on tape” you would think this is a huge ape caught on camera but it’s a guy’s feet wrapped I sticky tape personally I think this is extremely creative and I would definitely share this with my friends if you can think of ideas like this video marketing will work well for you.

Yes it can get you lots of views I used to get about 5000 visits from Youtube until I forgot to pay the renewal for the domain I only had around 200 videos to get that much traffic and the best part is you actually make money directly from the video advertising with the new YouTube ad formats I am making no less than $2 per thousand views I get around 2-3% of the users click the link in the description in some cases when I am giving things away templates, software, samples etc you can get around 75% if you have a good subscriber base, lots of likes, lots of good comments, and I find it helps to talk in the video, its more trusting people can always relate to a voice.

BAAM!! This is exactly where many fall short on video marketing. They do not realize that videos should be used to help educate and engage with people in order to covert them into customers.

why not? make qualified video, upload it to popular resources. it is a nice additional way to promote your website/goods/services.

My take on it.

took me a long time to make my first video, but now that I have learned the process it is fun, if not long to do.

Of course you might be able to go viral if you read how to get people on youtube itself interested in your fantastic video, but the other tangilbe benefits are that for each video you can also write an article (both will be original content) and you can use the videos for promo work or to get people to view your website.

while none of my vids have gone viral yet, the other spin off seo uses are great. Still waiting for them to spike my visitor numbers, but then again I havent made a vid with the core keywords for my site just yet .

I would say that don't listen to any person, as there is no grantee that they are saying true and they have experience, you have to experience yourself, or follow Google, its guidelines, MattCutts (Google Engineer), Wikipedia for true and effective learning.

Videos convert 3x better than written copy...

...if you connect with your viewers... Most people shy away from video marketing because they are scared to be in front of a camera...

Others do it but are so boring, they make people go to sleep...

I educated myself on public speaking and after that, my video presence changed drastically....
