When can expect rise in traffic? Your experience.

Situation. About before half a month I started to add more content to website. No link building. No additional marketing, only regularly added content. The new pages are indexed (I see that after 1-2 days number of indexed pages increases).

But no increase in traffic.

So the question is regarding your experience. If someone did things like me (only added content), after what period of time you saw increases in traffic?

You can add as much stuff as you want, but still not going to get any Traffic if Ppl doesnt know about it. You need to Advertise/Market it.

I have noticed if google indexes pages, then after time some pages appears in top search results without any posting in forums and linkbuilding. So my opinion is better I use my time to write some content for website than trying to post links not knowing if the links will help me (in many cases the links do not help).

What is your keyword if I may ask? Maybe you don't have many competitors but still, congrats for your site.

No certain keywords. Actually, many keywords related to bookkeeping and accounting. I suppose for many of them there is low competition

I start to see increase in traffic when my target keyword is positioned anywhere on the first page of Google I would expect to be on the first page of Google for my target keyword in less than 4 weeks max most of the time about 15-20 days.
If the keyword is not positioned in this amount of time I spend more time on SEO until it is, adding lots of content is great but you need to make sure the content is positioned in search engines well, it’s useless having thousands of pages and hardly none bringing in traffic, I would prefer one page in position one of Google with lots of traffic.

How many of our target keywords are on the first page?

This happens for me..a year back. The website was at #2 in a week. I did nothing and I don't think this will happen now, because google is not allowing good, quality website to get into position. May be if you are lucky enough..you will move but gradually.

That really depends on how much interest there is in the content and if you optimized it for keywords. If the keywords you chose are very competitive you'll never make it to the top 10 in Google. No top 10, no traffic. Frankly, you would need to post a TON of fresh unique and relevant content optimized for long-tail keywords to get there.

You can add content but it is essential to promote your site. You should do both. Let people know about your site. You can add it to blogging directories and use social media.

content doesn't directly affect traffic. Your serps do, so focus on ranking your website for keywords rather than just focussing on content

You need advertising/marketing/SEO, you cant rely on users trawling through 100-200 google pages to find your unknown site!

Hi rigaconnect, the time for you to get traffic for search engines will be much longer these days if you do not want to do any link building, especially now when Google is relying more on the authority of links that web pages are getting together with some signals from social media outlets.

Yes, there was once where any website with fresh content will start getting traffic from Google via long tail keywords after the site is out of the imaginary sandbox, which normally takes 3 to 6 months.

With your strategy, you could shorten the time by creating internal links between your articles whenever possible.

However, if I am a good content creator like yourself, I would consider writing for some other authoritative blogs in your niche. I understand the competition for your keywords is weak but since they are weak, why not push your website to dominate popular keywords?

Let people know about your business and your website by doing social media. That's helps.
In terms for local market, you can do as well local listing/business listing. Hit your local clients. So interact as well on sites that let you answer questions that related to your business and suggest your website (like Yahoo Answers).
