You need to make sure you make more than a buck when you spend a buck.

Know your numbers if you play that game. I don't know about the dating market intimately, except it's highly competitive. That said, the PPC cost won't be chump change, so you really gotta have a justifiable conversion and payback from the affiliate. Test test test, and cut your losses if it ain't workin'. Don't end up being a charitable advertiser to the affiliate.

Hope that helps.

Hi Shoaeeb ... though I don't know about any traffic farms, I think some sites, which sell visitor campaigns, must be reasonably effective. A few times, every month, I get an e-mail asking to include my site, in a network, for up to $1 CPM or as little as $.20 CPM. In some cases, a network, say, Tribal Fusion, includes examples of other sites in its network. Maybe the offer to pay is never delivered, I don't know, but some sensible sites, such as the daily newspaper at Princeton University is part of one or more of these networks. The point is simple: be wary, do your research; some web advertising sources may be scammy, whereas other sources may not. Take care.

Perhaps he meant link farms. Traffic exchanges and link farms are completely different ball games.

It would be wise to spend on PPC rather than using spamming services!

why buying traffics if you can generate some! as long as your on the right track on promoting and optimizing your site you don't need to buy traffics....

I agree with what has been said. Why pay for traffic when you can generate it for free. Most traffic services are scams. Some can be useful for boosting you Alexa Rank, but apart from that I find it a waste of time and it does not convert well. The golden rule I live buy is, If you gonna spend say $20 on Traffic, you need to make sure you will make more than $20 back from it, which is not likely to happen. Otherwise it's just money thrown away. Invest in PPC, you will have better conversions and not be wasting your money.

The problem with buying traffic is a matter of targeting. If your site is one that will likely interest anyone, then buying traffic might work. If you need a visitors that meet specific demographic needs, then you probably should use other means.
