How to get lots of traffic that generate sale

Hi All..

I have tried many type of advertising such as adwords, ppc, traffic exchange and article submission. But my website's traffic still low.
It seems that I only throwing my money on advertising.
If you have any suggestion how to get more traffic that generate sale, I'll be happy to hear it from you.
In your opinion, how long to see the result of any type of those advertisement?

Best Regards
Edy Subiyanto

One of the best ways to advertise is offline with business cards, leaflets etc. Online advertising is a lot more difficult to master and something that i'm no expert at either.

Make sure your code is optimized using a code optimization service and this should help you with getting search engine traffic.

Most importantly, be patient because visitors don't just come overnight and it's something you have to work on for a long time so I would say not to be too discouraged and give it time.

Is it the sites in your signature that you're advertising? If not, what sort of sites are you advertising?

CJ Jefferson, do you have any idea to share with me?

Well Edy,

Do you have an ad that says "follow me, I'm different". You're operating in a saturated field and you're hoping that webmasters - a breed of people famous for not clicking on ads - are going to click on your ad. Do you give them any compelling reason to do so?

So your first task is to find an ad - or an idea - that generates interest and makes people want to visit your site.

Your next task, having got them to visit your site, is to convert your traffic into sales. And again, you're dealing with webmasters - people who already know about buying websites - they've probably already bought several from someone else.

Does your site offer them a compelling reason to start buying from you?

I followed your sig. link to http://www.hostseason.com. It's a godaddy affiliate scheme. Now I personally (I'm a horrible webmaster - your target group) wouldn't buy from a domain affiliate. I'm an existing godaddy customer. I wait for them to send me coupon codes before I buy - they're always sending me coupons so I can always buy cheaper direct from godaddy that from their affiliates. I suspect I'm typical of webmasters.

So, perhaps your target market should be less-experienced webmasters - you probably have a better chance of converting them to sales, provided you have a website that's friendly to inexperienced webmasters. Do you think your site is friendly to inexperienced webmasters?

So that's one possible marketing plan. Build a site to help new webmasters and target them with compelling ads.

I'm sure some of the smarter people on the forum will have better suggestions than these, but it's one possible route you could investigate.

Edy, I will add a bit to CJ Jefferson's comments.
Your sig leads to affiliate sites. The search engines will ignore your affiliate sites, because they are obviously affiliate links.
Is the site not in your sig your own or another affiliate site?

You need your own site to promote your affiliate programs. Choose a niche, optimize it for one niche, either hosting, or domain names, or whatever you choose, then give your visitors at least 2 choices that fit your niche.

Actually, you should choose your niche BEFORE you select affiliate programs.
As CJ Jefferson says, the niche the affiliate programs you have chosen fit into is very competitive. If you are just learning, some other (less competitive) niche may be a better choice. What interests do you have - what are you passionate about - what could you talk about all day?

I am no expert - been studying affiliate marketing for a year or more. The most important lesson I have learned so far - I still have a lot to learn.

You may be a lot more knowledgeable than I, but your post indicates you are in the early stages.

I also use niche keyword on adwords but it was not give me better result.
I also use kanoodle to promote them.

Edy, I see one of your sites is SBI
What day are you on in the Action Guide?

The site in my sig is also an SBI site - just getting a good start.

You might want to go to your MKL
Enter your concept keyword in the search box, enter >150 above wordtracker demand, enter <1000 above google supply, then click search.
This should give you a lot of low demand, low competition keywords.
Group those so they would fit easily into an article - this grouping increases possible demand targeted by each article. Write an article for each group of keywords - like picking the low hanging fruit.

Those low demand, low competition keywords should be relatively easy to get good SEO listings (and traffic) for.

I still need a few Tier 2 pages for my site, then a lot of those I describe above.

Take your time, you will get there. And it does take time.
Also use the SBI forum often, it is a goldmine of info and help.

It is obvious that English is not your first language - considering that, you do pretty well and I can understand what you are saying.
If you have someone proficient in English, you may want to ask them to proofread for you. I don't know how much effect correcting your errors will make, but probably some.

Yes, I'd say to get someone to edit the language/text for you.
Maybe make a trade with someone for some other skill you possess.
You also might want to develop a content site separately that
has ads linked to your sales pages, for instance. Create your own
online advertising instead of paying for it from others who may or
may not deliver targeted traffic...

Good Luck!
Liz
