Affiliate OR Adsense? Which income are better?

I like to seek some feedback, survey & case study.

Q1:anyone running affiliates & adsense together? sample website pls.

Q2:which of them perform better and make the most money?

Q3:how to improve convertion in affiliate like clickbank product?

Q4:adsense income?

Here is my answer:
A1: i running a web hosting directory kind of site. promoting affiliate to some big hosting company, selling clickbank product that is related to web traffic and income, google adsense income as well.

A2: to me, affiliate once a while perform better. but last 7 days seen no sales. bit upsad with that. now installing the statcounter to tracking the visitors.

A3: no idea. selling right item to right people. viral marketing & follow up.

A4: adsense income? ODD, not stable yet.
firstly i got 1-2 clicks a day. but now grow to 5 clicks easily, with growing pageview as well. just hate to see the $0.03 click appear once a while.
Is 'channel' affecting this income? i was last time tweaking it, and really boost the income, now lost the magic already. still cant find a balance between clicks & pageview & pay. And guideline?

WRT A1, check the AdSense TOS. You're potentially violating it (and you don't wanna do that!).

Adsense is better for high traffic, less relevant. Affiliate is good for highly targeted traffic. Like a web host review site - some of those make $40,000 a month.

This question is too broad to answer. But John's answer is a great response.

Affiliate adverts will generally only work for a highly targetted topic. Adsense can be used by users who DIDN'T find what they were looking for on your site.

ya, i realised these targeted & untargeted traffic after sometime i include clickbank product to my adsense site. now what i did is to maintain the adsense on the right column. making it not only look better. also getting more clicks.

40k USD a month..

i been as a software programmer for so many years.
havent seen that much a month.

or two only.

do i need really need to maintain the site for few years before it really profiting 5 figures? as i seen, most PR5 and above website get listed in SE top, their domain is 3, 5, 8 years old.

Can any new domain get to PR4/5, or top in SE with common keyword like "web hosting" ??
