It would be better to post experiences and opinions on the actual www.paypalsucks.com website instead of here. After all, that is the point of their forum. Better still, if you have had problems just get involved in the class action lawsuit against Paypal.
You can find my full opinion on the matter at this thread.
To summarize: I believe that using Paypal requires that you take a risk. There are ways to minimize that risk (such as keeping low amounts in your Paypal and associated accounts) but it boils down to whether or not you want to trust Paypal with the amount of money you expect to handle.
Personally, I would just go with a traditional credit card merchant. However, I know that is not always an option for some people. One person commented that it was difficult to get a low cost merchant account in the UK.
As I said in the other thread, it is important for people to know about Paypals problems and the class action lawsuit so that they can make a well informed decision regarding Paypal. While the actual percentage of customers that have problems is low, there is always the chance that you could be the next one.

PayPal does suck. But it is also very convenient way of getting paid.

Paypal works, but there's real issues of error and loss of monies. The people I know who use it the most advise clearing out a Paypal account very frequently, and never to let monies build up in one in case of loss. a lot of people use Paypal happily - it's more a case, I guess, of minimising potential losses in the event of very possible errors.

I always leave a bunch of money in my account. It is so much easier to use the PayPal debit card instead of transferring it to my bank account.
I have never had a problem with them.

Sara, how do you apply for a PayPal debit card? I can't find a link for it anywhere, I've looked all over the place...

It should be in your left nav when you are viewing your account overview. If it is not there, check the nav at the bottom of the screen. Look for ATM/Debit Card.
Let me know if you find it.

Nope, not there. That's where I looked before, I checked it again and it still hadn't appeared.
Could it have something to do with my location, maybe it's only being offered in some countries?

Another problem with Paypal - if they suspect that your account has been compromised - they can freeze the bank account that they deposit the money into until the situation is resolved. I always recommend that if someone opens up a Paypal account to sell goods or services - open up a bank account only for Paypal. When the money is deposited, move the money into your real account. This way if it does happen - you will still have your money. I had one friend in which Paypal froze her account for 6 months. Paypal finally realized that it was their error, but never apologized or anything.
They are an aggregator so they are under so much more scrutiny these days from Visa/Mastercard.

Eligibility. At this time, the PayPal MasterCard ATM/Debit Card (the "Debit Card" "ATM/Debit Card" or the "Card") is offered to U.S. and, in limited circumstances, select non-U.S. PayPal users only.

I'm in Colombia S.A
We could not get set up with paypal because we where not in the United States.
When I found this out I knew it would have been a problem anyway Because our customers are all over the world.
I guess it would be good for a second source but if you are going to deal with people all over the world it is not good for an only source.
Plus I like to keep my money close.
Just my two cents

Have any of you used iKobo ( www.ikobo.com). They work pretty good for money transfer and merchant stuff. I started using them a while back and I have been pretty happy with their service since.

Heard too many negative things about them on getting set up. Plus I also heard they like to call your clients to verify the the identity. Sometimes not a good thing depending on what you are selling / buying.
