Recently we had a couple of clients who all had similar questions about email marketing. Many new bloggers and businesses are soo afraid of annoying their subscribers that they fail to utilize the full power of their list.

You should send regular newsletters – or your subscribers will forget that they subscribed to you. If that happens they will be even more annoyed when you send an email after some time.

Instead, you should use your newsletter to build a relationship with your subscribers – provide something they can only get via your newsletter.

And yes, sending newsletters should become part of your regular routine – even if your email list is still small....

I have contacted customers in the past through emails and informed them of new promotions I am running currently, but that's about it. I never thought of composing a news letter. In fact, I think that is such a good idea that I am going to try it. A news letter would only help legitimize me and my site further, expand my customer/email base and allow people to voice their opinion to my sent news letter, promotions, etc. and contact me. In general, the article "15 Email Ideas You Should Send to Your Subscribers (Without Boring Them To Death)" created an epiphany for me.

We try to work on a basis of 3:1 newsletter email to sales email to keep our mailing list engaged. We try to mix it up with general updates and reviews in an attempt to stop emails from becoming tedious!

Especially since most of our customers will not be in a position to buy from us most of the time.

Maybe you gathered emails from the wrong places? Why would you pursue emailing people that are not going to buy from you?
