Have a strategy.

In "Google Adwords" though "Search network" could bring you more conversion, it could be costlier based on the competition.

Whereas the "Content network" could be a better alternative if targeting is done in a better way.

Also, the re-marketing helps in a better way to improve our brand recognition and hence a better conversion.

Try the tools provided in the Google Adwords for planning your campaigns.

All the best!

You can do all the keyword research you want, but you also need to make sure the landing pages that your ads send users to are on-point. Using more of the same keywords on those landing pages and designing them specific to your ads to boost relevance will increase your ad quality with Google, bringing down your CPC.

For keywords, competitor research is always a great way.

There are a few things I would recommend in order to improve performance and reduce the return on investment of your paid search campaigns.

1. Review and improve overall account structure - A poorly organized Google Adwords account can make it difficult to target and optimize keywords, ads, landing pages, etc.

2. Pay attention to negative keywords - check your search term reports to make sure that you are not matching to low-quality longer-tail variations of your key phrase. For example, an auto shop may want to want to bid on “auto repair” but should add “windows 10 auto repair loop” as a negative.

3. Use bid adjustments to target the right users - If your site does not convert well on mobile devices, use bid adjustments to reduce the spend in that area. If you do better during certain hours than others, focus your ads using dayparting setting. The same would apply to geographic and other user-based targeting.

4. Setup your re-targeting campaigns and pixels - If often takes more than one touch point to convert a new customer. Remarketing is usually a cost effective way to stay top-of-mind with users who visited your site through another channel or keyword.

I hope that helps.

It is all about doing experiments. Start with few keywords then keep adding more and pause those which are not converting and do a thorough negative keyword research to stop showing your ad for irrelevant searches.

Effective ways to optimise your ad campaign-

1. Review, refine and add to your keyword list-
If a keyword has a Clickthrough Rate (CTR) of less than 1% after you’ve tried to optimize it, then delete it. That was easy.
2. Use Keyword Matching options to lower costs
3. Keep testing your ad copy & landing pages
It is always possible to improve your ad copy and increase Clickthrough Rate (CTR). AdWords doesn’t charge you to test new ads so Always Be Testing one to three new ads against your current best-performing ad.
5. Use location targeting to show your ads only in relevant parts of the country

1. Use manual CPC bidding.
2. Use all possible keywords you can find and also the ones proposed by Adwords (when you click add keywords)
3. Use exact matched keywords: [keyword1 keyword 2] and broad match keywords (+keyword1 +keyword2). No other keyword match type or else you are wasting your money.
4. Make multiple ads within a group and after a many each ad is clicked at least 10-20 times, pause the ones with the less CTR % (click through rate).
5. Make sure your ad group text keywords and actual keywords are also present on the website page that you are sending traffic to increase your Quality Score and therefore CPC cost.

Negative keywords, while running your adwords campaign you need to find negative keywords from search turm report & need to add negative keyword section. This will lower your unwanted impressions & generate more clicks.
