1. Forum signature links (maybe that's what you are doing here)
2. Article writing and distribution
3. Blog commenting
4. Submission to directories
5. SEO

1. Traffic Bridge

One way that I've found works well is to locate the web address of your competitors, then use the "link: competitor.com" search function in google to locate all the sites that have a link to your competitors. Many of these sites will be topical directories and topic-specific sites that are perfect for you to submit your site to.
