LOL how true. I know there are a few good sites that offer some good products, but they are the few and far between. Mostly 99% of these seem to be exactly what you said.

That's funny, you should do stand up. The reality is these marketers have been around since before the CA gold rush.
Things that will always be able to solicit money from people:
1. Get rich quick (it's always a secret...sshhh!)
People will always go for the shot of easy money, even if the odds are against them. I live in Vegas, the only place where people save up and go out of their way (42 million air travel passengers a year!) To throw money away based on hope.
2. Lose Wieght ( without diet and exercise)
Same pitch, "you can get it without working for it".
3. Get woman. Get laid.
Will work on 75% of the men out there, till the end of time.
4. Grow Hair ( usually plays on the insecurities of numer 3)

People still do chain letters.
People still do Pyramid schemes. (Multi level marketing)
People still fall for the emails to transfer cash from a foriegn country. (Nigerian 419)

People will always spend a little money, hoping to get something for nothing .

These things will never go out of style. Ever!
Anytime you can play on peoples insecurities, you will get their money. Everybody wants to believe in the "magic pill".

Oh how true. Simply look at late night television for some of the best examples of this. Some of these promoting "their" success are nothing more then front men or women who have never done any of what they claim to have done. Simply great marketing by these people. I once saw an infomercial with a guy hosting it and claiming to be an expert and a few months later he was suddenly the developer of a whole system that he had been doing for years and had become rich doing this. Now that was pretty funny.

LOL some are reborn again and again and keep trying different schemes. Now if they only saved that money spent and put it into a really sensible investment imagine the money they would have made.

In that case Atom I have some ocean front property for sale in Iowa and am wondering if you would be interested. Now mind you that this is a warm climate piece of property so snow is never an issue.

LOL, this is pretty funny. Though, I work for a marketing department that doesn't do much online, because we market our products and services locally through traditional avenues like print media (magazine & Newspaper, fliers, etc), radio, television, etc...

When I get online, I am left breathless by the cheap-tricks type marketing that all try to find a sucker in the crowd instead of marketing (for real) a prouct or service. I was trying to find some reviews for a video card I was going to purchase the other day and it took me about 20 minutes to go through the first few pages of search results on Yahoo and Google and weed through the sites that all have google adsense running (in half-assed articles)and try and trick you to click on the ads.

Marketing is marketing, advertising is advertising, scamming is scamming.
