Need Advise

Hello all - I have been lurking for awhile and some posteers seem pretty savy.
i am trying to drive traffic to my new forum based website, www.heatherstraveltips.com, we are on limited budget and are in release beta1a. We plan to go live in March. Our next release will allow for user profiles and trip logs. Any suggestions?

you can buy ads link from any related website or forum, moreover you also can hire forum poster to add more value information in your forum..or maybe you can make a contest to attract more visitor...

just make sure you already submitted you forum to directories, and develop a blog that will link to this forum..

If it's traffic, then you can try some link exchanges. I think there are some with reasonable prices. If not, then do some forum postings, article submissions, social networking (myspace, squidoo, etc.)... You can also try www.linkcrews.com and Stumble Upon.

I believe only in one traffic.... search engines!
For other things like banners from hight traffic sites you have to pay.

Good thing is a links from hight quality websites. Somethimes for affordable price you can get great links... they will give you traffic and search engine positions.
I know SEO website with great Google positions and traffic... after they build only 40 backlinks (for SEO website it is almost impossible).

Thanks for all the helpful advise I am looking into some of the ideas that were posted. I will comment on which methods actually helped as I try them. I appreciate all the help and would happily accept any other sugestions about our site www.heatherstraveltips.com as well. What a great resource this forum is.

Start by providing great information like tips and anything helpful that is updated on a regular basis not only in your forum but other forums that are similiar. Of course keep building links, but you need to be going to places you know people are already at and start developing something "extra special" for those readers to come to your site for.

This forum send me 20-50 visitors a day only from my signature.
Remember that people click signature if they feel that post are really great!
If i give good advice, i can get up to 10 clicks a day only from 1 post

Try using a mod_rewrite to get better Google placement.
