How would you market this site?

I am building a blog-based site called Make Happiness.

When the site gets to about 20 pages, I'm going to want to market it. It may not be a money-maker, but I don't want to build it if only I am going to see it.

Other than directory submissions and article submissions, how would you market a site like this?

Definitely add it to your latest blog feature here and on DP. And I will review it on the Bloggeries Blog as soon as there are a couple more posts on it!

meta tags, and make the bots follow for online. Then probably do a few videos on vid sites to tell of it. Then from there spend years doing a magazine and lose sleep.
Well you did not say an easy way to market just how would we. See why my site is only known to some far. grin.
Really there are probably a ton of free posting classified ad sites and of course a ton of mag sites that will let you post. Sadly if you do not have x rated words in searches you will get less hits but, happy thing is you will get more quality hits. Know what I mean. Not the numbers but, the people that count.

- build lens and every time you add a new article, you will add a link from this
lens to your website: you increase your ranking and get more exposure.
- comment other related blog
- use ezine advertising
- use ezine articles

I'd include some audio, and maybe try to get featured on a web
radio station in the niche.

Self improvement as a niche employs a lot of audio, sometimes
even subliminal stuff. I would'n't say that fits for your site, but
it's certainly worth testing some podcasts or radio style posts. If
people enjoy them, they will pass them on.

Hi all

A few good tips on how to increase traffic to your site and also increase your google ranking.

1) Submit your site to 62 search engines for free at
http://www.online-it-support.co.uk/megablaster/

2) Submit your site to another 300 search engines for free at
http://www.cspltd.ndirect.co.uk/submission/ Please note, this site will ask for your address but you are able to continue without typing your address

3) Advertise your site at www.great-websites.co.uk This is a fairly new site but will become very popular so get in there whilst prices are low. Prices start from $1 per 100 pixels (1 box contains 100 pixels). Purchase 1 pixel on page 4. Your site will remain on this site for a minimum of 4 years. The point is that you spend $1 which will help in increasing your google ranking.

4) Do a free Link Exchange at http://www.online-it-support.co.uk/linkman/form.html

5) Add your website to a website directory for free at http://linkcentre.com/addurl.html

6) Post your web address in chat rooms

I recommend you go through the steps above before thinking about spending your money on expensive advertisement.

Hi all
I prefer that you finish your web site before thinking about marketing
your web site needs a lot of work but the first thing you have to do is to find good keywords to build your site upon then you will start marketing

Exactly what I do with a new site. Build it up and then market. Really like the design, clean and very easy to read.

I would target females readers as I have a feeling they would be the majority visitor base. I would for sure have a profile in a number of different social sites or at least Myspace. Also keep an eye on Yahoo answers for related questions on the niche.

Would it be unethical to pose your blog poster as a female?
