The Power of Thank you Notes
Full Article: <mod edit>
Quote:
No matter what business you are in, it is probably safe to say that your competitors are working harder to take your customers away from you than you are to keep them.
When was the last time you sent a thank you gift to a customer? I don’t mean pens and calendars, I mean something useful, practical and valued.
When was the last time you sent a hand written thank you note, just to say thank you for seeing me or letting me show you my products, even when you didn't make the sale?
You'll be amazed at the impact it has on your business. You'll find you'll stand out. You'll be remembered and people will want to do business with you.

Really, you're just posting a link to your own site. V7N does not permit self-promotion.

Sorry, did not realise, is it ok to post the full article with a link at the bottom or something similar? Thanks.

You can post articles, but not link to your own blog. We have link-spam problems with that.

Well, JJ Inc., if you have a blog, you don't need to place links in the content of the article. It's enough to set it in your profile and V7 will display it automatically on the left menu bar, under your avatar, as you see at chicgeek. Besides, after only 4 posts you cannot expect the forum administrators to tolerate self promotion. I do find your piece of advice useful. In a SEO / SEM world, it's nice to be reminded of the power of a simple "thank you".

I couldn't quite figure out how to say what you just did. Thanks for doing it for me.

This is a good post JJ Inc (sans the links ). Worth being discussed. Another tip for online marketers is that, send them post cards or ecards and no not from those annoying sites that sell your addy but its easy for you to upload an ecard script, send them one saying "you can do it" or something if it's for weight loss or something..seems to work really well. Go out of your way to care for them and they'll do the same for you.
Same with scanning a handwritten note and uploading it or attaching it to an email...
Best Regards,
Ana

Actually, business cards have a much better effect thank "thank you notes". I usually ignore thank yous from thank you pages; what makes you think I'll care about a thank you note?

Well... I think it depends who gives you that thank you note and how. In my opinion a sincere "thank you" has a high value. Besides, it has another purpose than a business card. You already know the person who says "thank you" and you've probably done her/him a favour. Otherwise, why the "thank you"?

Why not do both. Write thank you on the backside of you business card.

That's a good idea. I am planning to order some business cards soon. Got to come up with some designs first.
I think a company that portrays itself as polite will go far in this industry. Plenty of companies forget the basics.

I agree that at least for me, it's super important to be polite. It goes a long way towards building trust.

Yes, and trust leads to really special relationships with your customers. You must not break it though.
