I'm writing some affiliate stuff for my site, and what I'm doing since I use a Paypal cart (i guess most affiliates prefer Paypal anyway) is adding the Affiliate ID to each affiliate sold item in the Paypal checkout code.

a) Now I have a record of which affiliate sold what at Paypal as well.

I also, add the item to a database when Paypal returns to my IPN_return page and it also contains the affiliate ID.

With this info should be able to pay your affiliates by either looking at sales for your paypal account, or a database on your site.

Does this help, or did I totally miss your question?

There are many tools you could use. Maybe it is a good idea to integrate your affiliates with a paydotcom account and then you'll have even more payment options (I think clickbank is supported by them too). I use PayPal for my site.

Send a message via MSN to Owen
Paypal seems to be a pretty prevalent way for this sort of thing

Yes, Paypal is the way to go. Safe, easy, protection. I would also suggest paypal.
