I use ezinearticles and isnare. Isnare is good as you pay around $1 and can have your article distibuted to alot of other web directories and publishers saving you time.

I agree on this. If you right unique and original articles then they will not stay unique and orginal when they go on more than one site. They will just be unique articles from other authors articles.

It's not so easy to answer this question if you don't reveal your niche.
If you are a web designer you could submit your news at Stylegala and get traffic to your site.
Or you could send your articles to thumbshots.org and appear as a featured author.
