Need advice on my delima (traffic)

Hey guys i been thinking on some ways to have what I'm really looking for and i came to some conclusions.

What I need:

-High traffic in no time starting at a specific day.
-Geo targeted.

Reasons:

-if i dont get traffic "clients" i will lose my employe's interest
-which will make me lose my clients.


So here im stuck in trying to find a way to build a stable traffic and keeping my employes .... some kind of vicious circle lol.


I mostlikely thought about 2 options.

option1: advertise in newspapers a week before the official site opening.

option2: put some free content on the site for a month or so until i get some stable traffic.


(option 2 will cost me ALOT and i wasted 2much on my project already and in fact im broke right now lmao)

any other options ?

Press releases are useful for temporary build up of traffic. However, I haven't issued any press releases on my site, which has been around for about six months so far, because pre-mature releases are often ill-advised. A press release is usually only good once, and once that capital has been spent, it is gone.

News papers would be a bad idea, people that read newspapers don't necessarily even have computers. Do you have an AdWords account? If not, get one and ramp up your budget big time a few weeks before and leading up to the event.
