Need help marketing/increasing traffic to my T-shirt site

Hi everyone. I own a T-shirt website that sells funny tees. I have been in business for about 7 months and am still having difficulty getting the kind of traffic to my site that I desire. I feel like I am doing all the right things:

1. Submitting to directories and search engines
2. I have a forum on my website and engage in many forums for each of my shirts.
3. I have links coming from youtube.com and digg.com
4. I write articles and submit them extensively.
5. I have many backlinks with high PR to related and unrelated sites (but only have a PR of 2 myself)
6. I use google adwords (with no returns). Actually I just stopped using this recently because it wasn't work my time or money.

What else can be done? I still only get from 50-150 people a day on my site!!! I want many many more! Please give me some suggestions! I need help.

What's your demographic? Maybe there's a way you can reach out to them directly?

Are you advertising on any joke/humor websites? They tend to get a ton of traffic. And since you're selling funny tee's, it would be targeted traffic. Adbrite has a pretty good selection of funny sites to advertise on.

Perhaps you can even launch your own funny stuff website. You can be the only sponsor, thus always having your own advertising outlet.

*points at writegurl's comment above* That's true. Especially launching your own website - that could be a great idea.

Maybe advertising at a college oriented site? Those shirts seem to go over well with the college age group

Are you getting sales now? How much traffic do you get and what percent converts? I agree on placing banner ads on joke/humor sites.
