Where to look for honest information
Hi,
I've been seeing a lot of advertisements for different courses and stuff about how to make money on the Internet. But I think a lot of it just looks like scams. Anyone here have some pointers on how a beginner would start or where to look for honest information?

Go to authority resources. Ask on forums.

My favorite thing about the internet is there is a lot of imformation - FOR FREE.
I use this information as a review or to become familiar with ideas. Everything written might not be true or pin point accurate, but atleast it get's you thinking.
Your best tools...
Google.com - Want to learn how to do something, search for a way.
Forums - ask people - they might not even know, but will set you in the right path.

On the internet, always use the rule: if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

Well, as someone previously stated, forums are a great place to get started learning about marketing online. Also, if you are willing to do some searching on the Internet, there are tons of great free and low cost resources available - you just have to be willing to put in the effort and time.

Agree with it 100%, try to awoid what looks too good to be true. Use your common sense. If someone offer you to start getting easy money right away, think many times before getting into it.
Have a great day,
Peter

Research first, pull out wallet waaaayyyy last. It's amazing the stories I hear where I haven't quite trained myself yet not to gasp on the telephone LOL!
Funny enough, a basic place to start would be digging around for the web site domain information. I recently was checking something out for someone and the page said they'd been in business for x years, but the domain was almost brand new. Now granted, maybe they moved... but maybe not.
Simple things like picking up a phone - just see if they answer - can save you tons of cash.
I agreed 110% if it sounds too good to be sure, for crying out aloud... it [most likely] is...
Common sense, research, use of good websites to dig for more information, calling, references... think of it like hiring a nanny for your kids. Wouldn't you jump through hoops before you let a stranger in your house to make sure your kids would be safe??
And btw, if you're watching those info commercials for abcmakemoneyonline, lol, read the fine print. "The people portrayed are paid actors" and "Results not typical" ... mean ... sucker!

I am sorry to debate on your statement John but asking on forums about online money making courses will just result in more spam.
My personal advice: start freelancing and continue learning what the market pays well for. Gain some experience in that field and stay flexible at all times in order to be ready to adapt to various customer's requirements.
