I am successful in Internet/Online Marketing, but have a very less knowledge in local marketing.I am from India and can anyone help ?

The challenge of local marketing is that there are hundreds of things you can try, and most of them might work. The biggest error I have seen over the years is the temptation to spend $500 once and then sit back and wait for the business to roll in. While you can buy inexpensive ads in local marketing, the overall marketing budget still needs to be realistic. The other big mistake I frequently see is a fundamental confusion between name recognition and Top of Mind Awareness. The latter is what drives new sales.

Have you tried classified ads from local television and radio stations. A lot of these stations have web sites with Classified ads you can post. I have had better luck here than post ads in newspapers and magazines.

Offline advertising is great but it seems like you have to spend a lot of money to find the spot.

I have just joined an entertainment group that is in lauch right now... They offer discount entertainment, dvd's, cds, televisions, entertainment centers, etc. I plan to market this mostly offline... I'm just looking for the right spot...
Again, I know it is going to costs me money to find the right spot.
