Article submission
I am looking for something free and/or cheap that I can use to submit my articles to directories. Someone told me that this was not possible. Can I or can't I submit my articles to a directory and if so, how or what do I use to do this.
Thanks....

I use ISnare.com - I don't know how cheap you are looking for - but you can submit 115 articles for 100 dollars.

submitting articles
Although 115 is a lot of directory submissions, $100.00 is a little too steep for my pockets at this time. I am just starting my internet marketing business, so I want to start out small then grow. I do thank you for your reponse.

Why don't you try free article directories like ezinearticles, articlebiz, articledashboard etc? I bet bottom dollar you'll get enough backlinks with excellent promotion, but the only thing you need to be there is 'quality articles'. If you write extremely good you can have it all at zero dollar. ANd when something can be done with zero dollar spend that $100 for get one or two PR 6 links.
Edit:
The directories I mentioned above are reputed ones and strong as well, Besides these a list is there accepts free submissions, but the strength of directory matters. You can search for some more BTW!
Regards,

I personally have never spent any money towards submitting articles. I just do it by hand to the major directories, as well as a few smaller niche article directories.
The one 'free' article submission service I tried was just not satisfactory, so really I just don't trust automated article submission when I can do it myself.

The best way is to write your own articles - free but takes time.
ezinearticles, articlebiz, articledashboard are all good ones!

I don't believe in article submissions, unless it is just a link to your own article like with Digg. If you have good information and content, why write it and put it on someone else's web site. Post the articles to your own web site.

Thank all for being such great help to me. I have saved many of your links to my favorites and I will begin looking into submitting some articles either tomorrow or this weekend. I actually have about 12 articles I want to get submitted; not all at one time but over a period of time. There will be more articles to come. I enjoy writing. I may not be the best at this time, but I know with practice, I will get better.
Thanks again...

Hey Satangod, actually I pay nothing. There are quite a number of free sites where you can submit your articles to. For those that require a fee, I am avoiding them at this time due to money constraints.

I personally use Isnare. I have been using them for well over a year now. It costs around $1 - $2 per article submitted where it will get submitted to various online directories and publishers.

Thanks much John587. I think I can afford $1.00 or $2.00. I will submit a couple maybe this weekend. I appreciate you sharing.
Take care...

They have limits. You can only submit up to 5 articles per day if you are submitting them for free or paid, doesn't seem to matter.
You can submit them in isnare for free, but then they do not get distributed to other sites and publishers.

I opt submitting them manually to free direcotories though. But if you lack time to do so and have the budget for it, you can use an automated service
