Unhappy Permission Email?

Hey,

I've been having a problem getting emails being sent from my application to NOT land in gmail/yahoo/hotmails junk/spam folders. These emails are permission based emails such as registration confirmation and status notifications. I don't send any emails unless the user has taken an action that requires email validation.

I've gone over most of the basics:

*MX record is an A NAME
*Valid SPF record is set up
*Reverse DNS Lookup resolves to proper A Name (which is specified in the SPF record)
*DomainKey Set up
*Not listed on any black lists
*SpamAssassin tests of emails returns a score of 0

Curious if anyone has any other recommendations or maybe knows of a service/consultant who will get my emails through.

I was using a service called emailreach.com for a while, but it's really just a testing tool. They do not provide any recommendations to resolve issues.

Thanks in advance!

t.

If you posted that in coding forum you would have much more chance for replies

Option #1 the email is in your GMail SPAM folder and you haven't noticed that.

Option #2 incorrect mail headers, I had same problems due to headers
here is a small snippet

PHP Code:
        /* additional headers */

$headers .= "To: $to\r\n";

$headers .= "From: $from\r\n";

$headers .= "Return-Path: $from\r\n";

$headers .= "Reply-To: $from\r\n";

$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\n";

$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=$charset\n"
Do you notice that some of the headers are just "\n", but not \r\n.

Hope that it will work for you.

Hey Slavi,

The problem isn't that my email doesn't get delivered, it's that it automatically heads to the spam/junk mail folders. I'm quite certain this isn't a code issue too...

Just curious if anyone had any words of wisdom for avoiding yahoo/gmail/hotmail's spam filters.

Do you use multiple "To:" combined with "CC:" or "BCC:" ?
