PERMISSION TO USE ALL YOUR ARTICLES.....
Hiya people.
I am working on a site, called pc-clever.com
i'll cut to the chase ... i need some reviews and tutorials, there are some good ones here. Please pm me if i can have your permission to posting your articles on my new site or under any condiitons. (still under construction). or reply in the forum ...
John Scott gets to decide whether i can copy the articles or not, as this is his forum (once the writers of the articles have given me permission!.) .
GREATLY APPRECIATED -

It doesn't become johns just because we put it on his site. If we made it, it remains ours.
As tigbit says, ensure it is defined as a quote and the correct source is given, you don't have to ask.
A link back and telling us it's been used is common curtesy.

So I could publish the entire works of Tom Clancy as long as I stated my source?
Each post is owned by the author. To copy the post you need permission. Fair use allows people to use small portions of copyrighted material - but that does not include publishing the articles in their entirety.

Exactly. People usually don't give credit because they like to claim things as there own work when its really not. Not a very nice thing to do...

Technically yes you could if you really wanted. When your quoting it your saying 'hey i didnt do this, heres who did' in reality, so it wouldnt be a problem. We just had a huge discussion about this in british literature at school so im pretty sure about this.
Fair use may be something you may do out of courtesy but there is no written fair use law. All im saying is that, legally, you can copy everything and anything you want as long as you tell the people its copied, and you dont need permission to do so.

thats why i hate college. in high school no one really cares if you plagurize, it just means an F on the paper if you get caught. You get caught in college and they kick you out of school, turn you into the author, and likely get sued by the author. not to mention you will never get into another university ever again.

Fair use is a defense against copyright infringement. Everything published is automatically copyrighted the second it is put in fixed form. So, by that law you can't even copy one sentence without permission.
But we have the fair use defense to allow people to discuss and/or parody copyrighted material.
It's kind of sad to see our educational system failing like this.
