Share Your Cheap Marketing Tips.

I will have a portfolio up eventually and I'm frankly not that great at marketing. Not that I can't be creative or create an ad or something it's that I don't really know how to market a site (any site really).

So I'm hoping that perhaps people on this forum would have some tips to market your site (cheaply or freely ).

here's a short list of the things you can do with little or no money.

• Post on social bookmarking sites.
• Article submissions. (does it help? maybe)
• Directory submissions. (less effective, but still in the list)
• Forum posting.
• Blog posting.

Try exchanging links with other non competing sites which appeal to the same market. We worry so much about SEO that we forget that we can get actual real traffic from other targeted sites. Afterall isn't this what Adwords does? They place our ads on the most targeted sites possible and charge us a fortune. You can do this yourself. I use the Arelis software for this and it is brilliant.
