We need some advice. Can any of you help???

Hey All,

We need some advice. Can any of you help???

My husband and I have been working on building our business QuickSaleListings for the better part of a year now and finally we are getting ready to open the doors –So to speak- it is an online listing site!!! So, we are now looking into online marketing right now and have heard that posting ads on craigslist is extremely successful in bringing your site traffic if you can get past the system change issues. That being said we signed up and went onto craigslist to see what other ads we could find. We really just wanted to get an idea of what type of businesses were posting ads on craigslist. We found that there were quite a few and even ran across an ad from a craigslist ad poster company. We are new at this and are wondering if any of you can provide us with some advice on this.

Have any of you tried posting on craigslist to advertise your company?

We contacted that craigslist posting company whose ad we ran across on craigslist. They claim they can post thousands of posts a day and that they have a solution for the ghosting issues people have been having. They also have pretty cheap rates. My issue is that I can’t seem to find any information on the company other than the fact that I see their ads on craigslist.

Have any of you ever heard of this company?

Auto CL Posters

Any information you can provide would be much appreciated as we are trying to get some major marketing out for our business and need to move on it pretty quickly.

Thanks Again,
Melissa Thomas

Do I think focusing on a Mass craigslist campaign is the answer to generating large quantities of targeted traffic? NO, Not at all!

I'm not sure about the Company you're referencing being a very credible source. Every marketing Firm (Including Ours) when considering inbound link campaigns stresses the fact that a Generalized mass campaign in One directory / Classifieds / Etc. is not only limiting yourself, it's also setting yourself up for:
  • Account Termination
  • Anti Spam Protection being Launched
  • BAD (PR) Public Relations

If you are going to launch an all out Inbound link campaign I suggest turning your masses into Individual targeted campaigns (multiple directories / Classifieds / Forums / Blogs / Profiles / Article author tags / reviews / testimonial Tags / Etc...)

I "MUST STRESS" the fact that the best inbound link campaign is Organic. (People / Companies that choose to link to you on their own free will due to Viable / original - content / products / services etc....)

We have written Hundreds of articles on Internet Marketing Campaigns & you are more than welcome to research us & invest a little time in reading a few of our articles / tutorials to add to your arsenal / checklist.

Always remember - Content Is King - Links come second -

Hope this helped..

I have not used craigslist yet but have you tried sending BLOGS?
This is an awesome way to advertise any business and its free!
Search Engines index content from Blogs which as result your business gets ranked without paying for (PPC) pay-per-click campaigns.

I will be very cautious of any company that only has a listing in Craigs list. Why don't you start placing a few ads and see what response you get? If the response is good, than you can outsource the job if you find a reliable company.

PPC is not for ranking purposes Its for getting targetted traffic.

I had a small campaign running on craigslist a couple of months back and I used a company by the name of Auto CL Posters based out of Dallas. They didn’t have a website either, and the pitch sounds about right. I was extremely satisfied with the results I received. In fact I have quite a few long term customers from the posts that Auto CL Posters was able to provide. Craigslist is not that easy to post on these days in the area of marketing. They are consistently changing their security features and if your post is successfully posted then you might want to go back a little while later you may find that your post has been flagged. Craigslist is a great way to get your product viewed. However, if you’re going to try the CL posting tools rather than the services I would suggest that you do your homework prior to jumping right into posting. If you’re not up to date on the latest security features you may end up spinning your wheels and if the prices are reasonable to you than the services would probably better suit your needs. However, I do agree that you need to look into other marketing strategies other than craigslist. You have a real estate investment listing site, right? Are you looking into RSS Feed features for investors to subscribe to your listings? You may also want to look into setting up a page to collect emails from interested investors as well. Just a couple of ideas but there are several ways to market yourself you just need to be diverse and try to think about want the customer might want to see and where they might look. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

BJ

If it was me and I wanted to test heavily with targeted traffic and with a bit of worried on how visitors will behave and evidently take action in listing material for your site, I will only start with Google Adwords.

$25.00 won't cut it in my opinion for a test drive. Use [] quotation in every keyword and keyphrases that you believe are very targeted to your market and see the results in your Adwords Campaign. Then follow-upon it

Joaquin
