How worth is it?

I was thinking how much worth it would be to rank top 10 for the term search engine marketing.

An estimated overture data shows:
1025908 search engine marketing.

Google Trends shows:
Googletrends:Search Engine Marketing.

Google Adwords shows:
Adwords:Search Engine Marketing.

I get the feeling its worth millions! Your comments?

That would be such a feat if you would manage to get on the top ten of that keyword!

It is possible but it would take a lot of time and effort...

Pfft, waste of time and effort. If you could get that keyword to rank well you might as well make other competitive terms work for you and make a killing.

Well if you get a top rank for that term then you need nothing...1,000,000+ visitors a month isn't that enough for a website! Well you could always go for other keywords too...

Bah, not if they are broke.

Although, you got me thinking. What if someone could control some top sites for that keyword term AND got business. The wealth of information could be used to control the SERP's and keep your 'new niche ideas' ahead of competitors....that are using you to get them to the top.

probably they are already people doing that. controlling the serps. build high PR network and target specific niche.

My comment would be a modest one. I checked AdWords and found out that a broad term: "search engine marketing" gives only 71 - 97 possible clicks per day. That's far less than your overture tool suggests. I don't think it is worth millions to rank high. There will be not much traffic out there.

yeh it would be worth hell of a lot of money, but such a competitive term would also take a lot of time and money to keep it there. as we all know search engine ranks constantly change, so keeping it there would be a never ending taks.
