How do you make money off site trafic?

Ive never really understood the concept.
Please explain, also can you provide information on where and how to get started?

If most of your traffic is targeted, you can opt as a PPC publisher (via XML feed) and get a percentage on every lead / click through. You can also monetize your site by selling links, banners, etc.

First is to choose a niche - always choose one that you have more knowledge on so you can provide useful and relevant info to your users. Next is to work on your content. Always provide original and relevant content in your niche. The better your content is, the more easier it would be to market your site. Do some on-page optimization (meta, keywords, etc) that would help your site in SEO. There are more factors and best is that you read on other threads for better understanding of how you can make the most out of a website.
