Hey guys,

I am interested in running a contest for developers to create a widget, badge, or some type of tool for blogs.

What is the best way to market something like this? I am looking for very creative tools or widgets.

My questions are:

1) Is this too much money or too little money

2) Do I use my blog to market this?

3) Should I use forums to market this contest?

4) Any suggestions or past experience?

It's hard to judge if it's enough or not, it just depends on what type of widget as well as how powerful the widget is going to be. A decent widget cost around 1k so you're at par with the market price. I'm not sure if a contest is going to grab a lot of attention from developers. I have used this site a few times, the developers are usually pretty reputable I would recommend going through this route.
