Would you mind recomend me web sites (download ones) where I can advertise software?

I have software posted on usfreeads.com, poered by Google, and I receive hundreds of page views...so people do look (oddly enough).

Nobody does. But people who buys software they use those sites for other things as well. Some of them may remember your site if they been work on the product you sell or if they need. After all its free advertising anyways. And yes I agree that shouldn't be the first choice for advertising software, could be supplemental.

You may also try froogle so there is a big chance that it will be posted in the Google's 1st page of a typed keyword that is closely related in your business.

Press releases are a great idea as stated above

* Press Releases
* Google Adwords of targeted marketing
* snap files dot com for promotion
* write quality Articles & do a lot of submission

Write a press release. If you do not know how take a look at the once that have been written in niche and model them.
