Lightbulb The truth about stumbleupon

Hi,
I'm new to some of this but I keep hearing about "Stumbleupon". Could anyone please share there experiences about this site? Are you getting a reasonable response from being stumbled, traffic wise? Have you had any negative experiences. Is it still an effective way to expose your site or is it becoming a waste of time?

Thanks for all the help you can give
Have a great 2008

I have found several very interesting sites using StumbleUpon. I'm not sure what type of hoops you have to jump through to be included in the mix, but if it's Digg-like in the sign up process then I would recommend it.

I like to keep my browser as light as possible, so I don't keep the toolbar installed.

I'll install it for a few hours here and there and go stumbling. Great way to kill some time.

My blog has been stumbled several times. A quick influx of traffic but not much retention. I like to believe at least a few of those subscribed or bookmarked.

It's kind of cool to know someone felt your site was worth sharing.

StumbleUpon is comfortable to use, and you don't have to do much more than install the toolbar and pick your interests to enjoy it. But you will get the most mileage by befriending users with similar interests and joining groups that correspond to those interests. And it will serve StumbleUpon do a good job at finding websites that interest you. StumbleUpon made it easy to give thumbs up to websites you like, and thumbs down to sites you just don't think cut it. U can send interesting websites to friends and write reviews for existing websites could be easier.

Stumble upon is a great new way t explore new sites as they advertise and it is really so. Even I have stumble account and it is one of the way to increase traffic to your site but the traffic is worthless to be converted into any sign up or adsense income.

As I stated above... it only gives you a quick burst of traffic which usually does not convert well...

For me StumbleUpon is a waste of time. It gives you tons of useless traffic in quick busts and doesn't give you any backlinks. I've stopped using it.
