re branding: Did I blow it?
At the time, I thought the name "BungeeBones.com" was catchy and would be brandable.
Now I am thinking maybe not and considering doing a similar site with a different domain name. I have the name web--master.com registered
Which would be better?
I do have a pr5 on BungeeBones.com

Better for what?
It is nice when the name relates to the site.
The double hypen is a major turnoff for me.

Double dashes is not good in my opinion.
Easy to remember small names are always good.

BungeeBones,
I am new to this forum but I have a question for you. It takes time and effort to achieve a pr5. Isn't that an endorsement of sorts that people like your brand and find your site useful? I could see changing it if you weren't getting traction, but it doesn't seem that way to me. Am I missing something?

Don't use a domain with double hyphens. Not good.

I'm also confused. Doesn't it depend upon the content? Anyway, double hyphen is probably too weird for any kind of content.

Yeah, the double hyphen isn't a real winner sorry... And just be careful that if you are going to have a similar site that you don't just copy the original one - make it original content or you will get in trouble.

I think the whole log in to submit a link is too much of a hassle so you might not be getting as much participation as you'd like. And even if you did lose the hyphen and moved the same content to the new domain, it wouldn't relate. You offer backlinks in a web directory, web-master.com sounds like an all-inclusive site that teaches you HTML, JavaScript, compares hosting plans, offers mods and scripts, and all that. Yours is more like a submitalink.com, addyoururl.com, freebacklinks.com or something of that nature.

K, almost unanimous. Thanks.
The double hyphen clamour surprised me.
I know that saying "web dash master dot com" is one mouthful worse than saying "webmaster dot com" but almost all those best names are long ago taken. I can say "web double dash master dot com" with about the same effort. "webmaster" is easy to remember and "double dash" is easy to remember.
Stacy, thanks for the feedback on the login. I do need the email for what I am trying to do and that is the reason for the verification. The upside is that it keeps the trashy links away and I don't email anyone after unless there is something going on with their link or site.

I have to agree with the others the double hyphen is not really working for me. Not that I am everyone but when the thought is the same with so many maybe you should re think it before going any farther.

What's wrong with the name BungeeBones? I don't know what your site is about, but I kinda like the name. Keep it.

Keep bungeebones
To me, funily enough, it reminds me of Bungie Studios. Hah
By the way, your site is wider than my screen, which is 1024x768 already. The right column bleeds off the page. You call that Web 2.0? Where are all the rounded borders? (just pulling your leg).

It's the name that's catchy and not something that's confusing. When was the last time that you went to a site with hyphens??
Hmm...yes, NEVER! you get the idea.

Go for BungeeBones,
It is specific and people will remember it. And since your forums' nickname is the same taht would help.

I personally think your web double dash master rocks.
You just have to shout it loud under your logo though that it has 2 dashes
Regards,
Jimmy T.
