Yesterday experiment: Using forum to advertise

Hello,
To promote my new site, I had the idea to sponsor 2 forum. This way I can tell people about my promotion. Results are not bad but I don't make enough profit to afford this kind of advertizing.

So yesterday morning I had the idea to remove the few items I sell on my website. Now that my website is non-commecrial, I don't need to pay sponsorship to have the right to post links to my site on forums.

Results, my trafic went from 30visits/day to 150+ yesterday and probably as much today and I still make a little income with affiliate links. I now use post links on 15 related forums. All I have to do is to answer prople question by reffering them to the answer on my website. Also, each topic I create is a new link for search engine. After all that work, it's great to see prople comming to the site.

I think this might be a good way to advertize my site for a few month. Once my site will be well know in the hobbie, I'll put my inventory back on the site and will have to change my advertizing strategie. I just hope I'll generate enough profit to keep advertizing.
