how many unique visits per period of time are good for a company selling their product online.

I know, of course, it depends on the product. but are there any small business owners out there who would willing to share their traffic stats?

Go to a large site offering traffic measurement and providing the basic traffic data publicly. There are many such sites. Than find out a category as close to your buissness as possible and look at your competitors traffic. Do not ask me for the address of such traffic stats site - I know two at least, but they are non-english.
