I am looking for an AdWords Guru

Hello everyone,

I have been working online full time for quite a while now and making a good enough living to support my family. However, I would like to take things a step further and make even more money. I know there are plenty of marketers making big money(I have talked to a few) with Adwords campaigns for sites like ringtones, loans, mortgages etc.

I can build the sites, but for some reason have no luck with adwords, I usually lose money. I would like someone experienced with adwords campaigns to "tutor" me if you will, briefly, just to give me an idea of how to setup a profitable campaign. I don't have a lot but would be willing to pay for this information via paypal.

Please pm me if you are interested, let me know what experience you have and how much you would charge to help me out.

Here is probably not a great example, but an example none the less of what I am trying to do:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Established-Onli...QQcmdZViewItem

That example is from an ebay auction, the guy has ran several profitable campaigns, makes some money and then sells the sites off on ebay. But he makes $8,000 a month on one site, although he spends $3 - $4,000 in advertising per month on the site.

Thanks for your help.

I don't know much about Adsense and like yourself have not had any stellar results, but here's a word of caution:

I have been a seller on eBay for years and it's not so glamorous like it's made out to be. Listing fees and PayPal payments alone take 10% off the sale, not to mention all the lost money on listings that never sell. Some people pay up to 50% in fees to eBay each month and barely make a profit (IF they do).

Plus, I ran a check on that website that's for sale and it gets an estimated, but laughable 17 visits a day. Doesn't help very much when only a few people show up each day, now does it?

Here's the deal, adwords are just a place to start if you can't wait until your site gets indexed. If the site is done right, it will return a very small percentage of leads or sales.

I have a client that pays $98.00 per lead (after all is calculated). The lead site costs them $2.00 a lead. It also cost them $300,000.00 to maintain and develop. The site brings in 4000 leads a month, google ads account for 60 of those, and the conversion is extremely low.

If you are a small guy selling a product and expect to compete with the big boys - forget it. They will outspend you and sell the product retail, cheaper than you can buy it wholesale. To put it bluntly, Don't build a store next to walmarket if you carry the same products they do. Buy.com was willing to lose millions the first couple years just to put the competition out of business.

BUT you can make a little money, keep your clients or customers informed and get the site to pay for its self.

If you want to make a few extra bucks - set up at the online flea market (EBAY). Take $20.00 on the weekend and go to some yard sales. Buy stuff you are knowledgable about. Slap it on Ebay. How much money can you expect to make? 600.00 - 800.00 a month for a few hours work visiting yard sales, and buying stuff people want for a $1.00 and let them bid on it. Make it fun.

If you have a local business and sell stuff, yes a website will help. Try to compete with me and people like me - you can't. we're pros. I have thousands of dollars worth of software and equipment just to beat the crap out of other big guys. Example I spend 4 hours a day on one clients site increasing it's standings (and have been for 7 years.) You can't afford a guy like me, but if you are willing to work hard and study hard you can do it.

I can't tell you how many times I told a prospective client they don't need a website.

Hi,

Spend some good time doing keyword research, geo targeting, watch your CPC, include keywords in the ad copy title/desc, optimize landing page on the keyword.

Thank you

Again, pinkfluffy, eBay is not all that it's made out to be. There is so much junk in it, plus the commission you have to pay on low cost items is around 30%. Expect only about 1 in 10 listings to be sold. Gallery picture itself is $0.35 per each auction, not to mention listing fees. Again, I've been selling on eBay for years and can tell you from experience that it's not all that easy. You're more likely to lose than to make a profit.

I agree you're not going to make a living off ebay. The trick to ebay is to enjoy it and not have to make a living at it.

Just for giggles my wife and I went to garage sales and limited ourselves to $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays buying stuff we thought might sell. As it turned out we did 600 - 800 a month. My favorite was a leather covered wine bottle we bought for .25 cents and sold on Ebay for $22.00.

So can you make a living at it? depends on what you sell and what you consider a living.

We got bored with it (I like to sleep in on Saturdays.....lol).

I also have a friend who is a clothing manufacturer and makes 1600.00 a week on ebay, and gets rid of her overstock....

I jsut recently threw out the Elvis collector plates we bought for $2.00 - I think I still have a stack of black tuesday Newspapers (dale earnhart killed daytona papers....)
