In-house marketing

Sometimes, spending energy and time on in-house marketing is better than spending it directly trying to get new members. By "in-house marketing' I mean spending time and energy making your existing members happier. Word of mouth is a very powerful force, or can be. The happier they are, the more likely they are to not only stay, but to speak well of you to others. Just something to think about. Sometimes I think people forget the power of that approach. It's easy to, because you want new, additional people and your instincts can tell you to just directly go get them.

Every business should have that policy. But again if you don't take steps to bring in new customers, how would you make your business grow? Only word of mouth doesn't always work, or it may take too much time.

I completely agree. It is as important to keep old members/visitors as it is gaining new visitors/members of a site.

In some cases "word of mouth" brings more than enough business by itself
You need to let your clients, friends to know you need their connections..
