Question Cost effective internet advertising

I have been out of the internet advertising for awhile, mostly working on development projects for my company eSpirit Communications. I have tried some paid advertising and some of it worked well and some didn't. I am thinking of investing a decent amount of advertising into traffic swarm for a new site www.ihbclub.com which converts well with free traffic 0.1% . Any suggestions as to the value of traffic swarm or other internet advertising resources? Thanks.

I am using traffic swarm however I get only one or two hits from them a day, and they are usually from germany. My tracker tracks what country they come from. However I am a credit card website so maybe no one is interested since most of the sites on trafficswarm are affiliate sites.

wow, man!.....you gotta lose that header on your site...I thought it was never going to end, and it almost set me off on an epiletic fit

On a more serious note, it amazes me why people look to quick fixes for instant traffic instead of concentrating on producing a website with decent content that is easy to navigate.

Very strange why anyone might suppose that merely generating clicks is going to monetize any concept....

The topics on this site seem reasonablyy interesting, and I might want to know more...but the look and feel of the site made me feel it was unprofessional and therefore not trustworthy....

A decent makeover would work wonders...with plenty of keyword rich content....try that first before looking for quick fixes.

Hello ...

I need some help because I'm not very familiar with email ads.

I got to the website by searching for opt-in email advertising on google, I heard that 'opt-in' is necessary otherwise my emails will be considered spam.

I recently bought 1000 email ads, from taketheinternetback.com and paid $15 for that and I got about 460 visits from them in about one week. I did sell more toys (my online business), but I paid for 1000 emails and sincerely, was expecting to get at least 70-80%.

Do you think this is a good result?

If no, do you know websites that provide better results?

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for all the responses. I decided on buying credits on a manual surf program and its producing the desired results. People are joining and posting decent information in the forums.

I think beacon has produced a comprehensive list of opportunities. My approach varies with the client and tends to center around organic SEO paired with article marketing and blog/forum posting.

Like weilies I am doubtful of crowdsourcing concepts like traffic swarm.
