Bluetooth Marketing

What do you chaps think of bluetooth marketing as a method of effective advertising? For those that don't know what it is, basically it is a method that sends information (images, videos, sound files etc.) to mobile phones via bluetooth.

It is also called 'proximity marketing' and whilst it has been around for some time now, it is only really starting to gain any real sort of momentum, at least in the UK.

Do you think it will take off? And would YOU consider using it for your business instead of say, leaflets, flyers or brochures?

I often receive some advertisements through SMS and never did I avail any of those.

I looked at that type of service a few months back to add with my traffic packages and offer it to my clients. The monthly fee was costly, so I just put it on the back burner. But will look again in the summer.

I think it has great potential if used properly.

I really wonder if this is a service that appeals to younger people. As being middle age using my cell for anything other than talking is a waste of time.
I also notice that cells made with older people in mind, the cells don't have internet abilities. Which makes me believe this is only for a limited target group.
