Wink Great article & When will Google die?

Currently working on my MBA major Non Profit & Marketing. I spot this article in a search on Google when I was doing some research. I thought it was a very good article:
http://blog.v7n.com/2007/01/31/googl...ding-strategy/

Google holds the "top-of-mind-awareness" making it a leader on the Internet at this point in time. This does make it difficult for other search engines to unseat them.

But as the Internet changes, it will lose some of the market. As social sites like MySpace, Facebook and new types of websites grab the users attention and keep them around longer. With higher speeds, more video, websites making it easy for people to express themselves like YouTube, generation Y growing older and more TV type websites. Could search engines have less of the market and less branding power as each year goes by? How will this impact your business? And what types of approaches should you be using to keep your brand alive?

It has been over a year since this article, Google is still #1 in the search field. When do you think "Google Search" will hit the end of life cycle, if ever?

Sorry I don't get around as often...teens, school and work keep me going

Those sites are actually declining. This is 2008, not 2007.

Wow four months into this year and they are gone huh? I have seen them making many changes in the last six months. I'm sure they will figure things out. A decline does not mean they aren't a good place for some advertisers to spend money with. Obviously some can do really well with ads at MySpace.

They aren't really declining, I've found I still get tonnes of traffic from Facebook, I don't really use Myspace because it's full of spammers. But Facebook isn't declining, in fact is increasing in popularity.

Social Networking Sites are the future. Nice article.

Facebook is very popular because of it's API and support from Microsoft.

I have not really caught onto the whole rage, but perhaps it is the future. I use facebook but not really for internet marketing purposes. I think in another 10 years there will be something else that is making a huge statement in appealing to the younger crowd. Right now it is just MySpace and Youtube whereas it was IRC and AIM when I was a kid.

It will never be declined if there's a lot of visitors who are interested to visit your site even if it's an old site. The point there is that you have good traffic because a lot of visitors satisfies their needs every time they visit to your web site, and it is because of the good content of your web site as well.
