How would you go about marketing this gaming site?

I'm trying to launch my gaming league. Hardcore Gaming League. How would be the best way to go about marketing it. I'm going to sign up for google adwords, I tried earlier and they are having technical problems when I tried. I'm just looking for as many ways and ideas as possible.

http://HardcoreGL.com is the site.

I'm not trying to spam either if anyone is going to say that. Just trying to get traffic thats all.

thanks

Unless you get big in the search engines for variou sgaming terms, you wont get big. Im trying to get mine big, so far ts ranged from #1 to #10 for "game previews" in google, I want to get that for "game reviews", but you gotta beat the other professional sites.

It all depends on how much a unique visit is worth. If you are selling a service or product and getting good conversion ratios, I'd recommend going straight into PPC (Pay Per Click such as Adwords or Overture). But if your unique visits aren't worth that much - if they do not justify the expense associated with PPC - then try some organic SEO and look at strategic link partnerships which drive on-topic traffic.

http://www.internet-marketing-resear...topic5919.html

First, keywords in the page titles. Then get links. Start off by submitting to directories such as www.bluefind.com & www.wowdirectory.com and www.goguides.org

Then request links from other sites such as niche directories.

And keep on building links.

I dont think Pay Per Click is good for this sort of site and there is no return on your investment. Your really got to look at word of mouth and start talking to clan leaders and taking part in forums to deal with Call of Duty.

You need a reson to join your league that Clan Base or other leagues do not offer... maybe a new custom maps or anti cheat support.

Sadly as a MOHAA player and ex clan leader I find Clan Base good enough.

Pay Per Click is still an option if you use Adsense then you can offset if not cover your PPC costs.

Erm clearly I am the only person here who actually look at the site in question? I cant see how PPC would benefit it and I do feel strongly about it. If you don’t believe me give Googl ago cos you will not be wasting money (you will not get many relative clicks!) and all you will be doing is wasting time.

Thanks for that post, awesome information. Taking it all in, thank you very much. Prob have some ?'s for ya after I read that. Also, yeah that makes sense considering i'm not selling anything. I was just trying to pretty much buy some traffic, but at those rates. Not to worth it I guess.

Well there always has to be options, So I would like the HGL to be one.

I do see what you are saying tho. I have a few idea's but didnt want to use them up until I have user's cuz then other sites might get word and take the idea's.

Thanks for your post
